Mercedes Maduka is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice stems from a curiosity about her displacement between the western world and her home country, Nigeria. Maduka's emerging art practice explores storytelling, culture, rituals, identity and, perception.

Mercedes Maduka is also a graduate of the University of Manitoba, from the school of fine arts bachelor honors program, currently living and working in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With a deep interest in arts and community building, she has previously worked with Synonym Art Consultation/ Wall-to-Wall Mural & Culture Festival, showcasing works of arts that aim to beautify, inspire and create dialogue in communities. Maduka has showcased work locally and internationally.
