Passage (2019)

ARTIST

Lacey Jane and Layla Folkmann

Originally hailing from Edmonton, AB, we are female collaboration specializing in murals and urban art since 2010. Working exclusively as a synchronized duo, we have produced over 60 murals all across Canada, from a 4,000 square foot farm silo in the Ontario countryside to the notable Rogers Place Arena in downtown Edmonton. Internationally, we have painted in Honduras, France, and Northern Uganda, where we completed a series of murals working with a local orphanage and “Freedom in Creation” - an artistic centre for the rehabilitation of former child soldiers. We have participated in multiple mural festivals across Canada, such as Expo Quebec (2015), Montreal Mural Fest (2016 and 2018) and Womxn Paint, Toronto (2018). We currently live in Montreal, where we work both independently on studio arts and collaboratively on mural work, and are the only female artists working with the Montreal mural legacy A’Shop.
