ENGLISH BIO

Yvette Cenerini (née Lagimodière) is a francophone Métis visual artist from

Manitoba who lives and works on Treaty One Territory. Her work in paint

and photocollage is characterized by the use of animal-as-subject. It

examines the intricacies of relationships and emotions through a simple

aesthetic, laden with sarcastic undertones. Cenerini has participated in

several group shows in Manitoba, Québec and Ontario. An involved

member of the artistic community, she has served on the boards of

Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art, Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba

and La Maison des artistes visuels francophones. Having obtained both a

BEd (2001) and a BFA (2010), knowledge-sharing through art in the forms

of teaching, mentoring, cultural mediation and community engagement is

an important facet of her practice.

francophone du Manitoba qui vit et travaille sur le territoire visé par le Traité

n o 1. Son travail en peinture et en photocollage est caractérisé par

;utilisation de;animal comme sujet. Il examine les subtilités des relations

et des émotions à travers une esthétique simple, chargée de sous-

entendus sarcastiques. Cenerini a participé à plusieurs expositions

collectives au Manitoba, au Québec et en Ontario. Membre impliquée de la

communauté artistique, elle a siégé aux conseils; administration de

Mentoring Artists for Womens Art, Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba et

La Maison des artistes visuels francophones. Ayant obtenu un B.Éd (2001)

et un B.A.V. (2010), le partage des connaissances par le biais de l’art sous

form;enseignement, de mentorat, de médiation culturelle et

;engagement communautaire est un élément important de sa pratique.
