Anthony Nelson
Anthony Nelson (Anawason) is a visual artist originally from the Camp Morton area, North of Gimli, now based in Chatfield, Manitoba. Nelson draws inspiration from the natural world, Mysticism, Dadaism, and Maximalism to produce highly saturated and rich work, both aesthetically and symbolically.
Nelson has had solo, as well as group art exhibitions in Gimli and Winnipeg, has done graphic design work for several arts organizations and musicians, and has published a colouring book “AWAYKIN: with colour”. His current art practice involves the creation of immersive worlds, converting his country home into a space that exists at the confluence of sculpture, collage, interior design, craft, and muralism.
