Evin Collis is a visual artist and animator from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Through a combination of drawing, painting, comics and animation his work investigates the complexities of the degraded landscape and the human condition. Previous employment as a porter on the Canadian transcontinental railroad has greatly influenced his vision. The work delves into the realities and spectres of history, cultural myths, industrialization, decay, class and the contradictions of progress. Evin holds a BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design and graduated with an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016.

Evin Collis est un artiste visuel et cinéaste d’animation de Winnipeg, Manitoba. Il crée des dessins, des peintures, des bandes dessinées, et des animations qui sont dévoués aux complexités des paysages dégradés et de la condition humaine. Plusieurs de ces sujets sont influencés de ses expériences personnelles du travail comme porteur sur le chemin de fer transcontinental. Les œuvres examinent les réalités et les spectres de l’histoire, les mythes culturels, l’industrialisation, la décrépitude, la classe sociale et les contradictions de progrès. Il détient un baccalauréat en beaux-arts de l’Université de l'École d’art et de design de l’Ontario et en 2016 obtient sa maîtrise en beaux-arts de la School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
